Meet The Doctor
I grew up in Fresno California in a family of 9 children, 5 boys and 4 girls. My mother was a stay-at-home mom and my father taught art at Fresno City College for more than 30 years. I graduated from Fresno High School in 1972. and then attended Fresno City College for 1 year before serving a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in Queensland Australia at the age of 19.
Upon returning from Australia, I continued with my education at Fresno City College. I then met and married Carol Gage, the daughter of Ben and Barbara Gage. After being married for 4 months we loaded up a truck and drove 2200 miles to Davenport Iowa where I had been accepted for enrollment at the well known Palmer College of Chiropractic.
I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June 1980 and after sitting for the National and California Chiropractic Boards I became licensed in January 1981 and began practicing traditional chiropractic techniques as I learned at Palmer College.
During my first few years of practice it became apparent to me that although traditional chiropractic practice and theory helped many people there where many that simply did not respond to standard chiropractic procedures and I wondered why.
This caused me to travel all over the country and even into Canada for several years attending different techniques seminars to find out what I was missing with these unresponsive patients. This quest took me thru the whole gamut of techniques from the very physical deep-tissue massage techniques to the energy-medicine techniques that use almost no physical force at all. I saw many impressive results with these approaches, but I was still not satisfied with the consistency of results with these techniques.
Then in 1999 I came across small book called What Really Wrong With You ? by Thomas Griner. I had no particular expectation as to what I was going to find in it, in fact, I suspected that it would be just another book with someone’s pet theory about muscles, pain, and health. The cover wasn’t particularly dazzling. The title was rather bold and it wasn’t published by one of the big book publishers. But still I started into it.
By the 3rd chapter I realized this wasn’t just another book. Most of the information was completely original. I was truly astonished that I had never heard of these things with regard to muscle anatomy and physiology during my schooling and reading on my own. What Dr. Griner had figured out was completely brilliant and was based on accepted physiological knowledge as found in authoritative medical physiology books. This was what I was missing in my understanding of the causes of most of the problems that patient presented me with in my practice.
The information in Dr Griner’s book is exactly what the rest of my profession, the physical therapy profession and the medical profession are missing when treating most musculoskeletal disorders as well as other disorders that aren’t ordinary associated with muscle dysfunction.
Once I was able to acquire the skill to apply the NeuroSoma procedures efficiently, which took me several months, I saw a striking improvement in the results I would get with my patients. In addition, I was getting consistent results in a way I did not get before using NeuroSoma. It seemed that almost everyone responded to this therapy. And patients were referring their friends and family like I had never experienced before in my previous years in practice.
It has been very gratifying for me to see those patients who are in a significant pain predicament respond to NeuroSoma Therapy, especially after they have received all that modern medicine had to offer.
NeuroSoma is truly remarkable. If you have a persistent problem that is effecting your quality of life and you would like to speak to me about it, please send me a message on the contact page.
